    Please save the date for our April meeting with speaker, Randy Dickhut from Farmers National Company, who will discuss "Owning Land in the New Normal."

    Change is a constant in today's world, including every aspect of agriculture. Randy will review the current land market and discuss the value of owning farmland during these changing times. He will also help all attendees to think about how a multitude of converging trends may influence production agriculture and land ownership in the decades to come.

    Randy Dickhut, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Operations for Farmers National Company, has held that position since September, 2013.  In that capacity, he directs the company’s real estate sales, appraisal, and Hunting Lease Network services across 29 states and is a member of the Executive Team.  During Randy’s tenure with Real Estate Operations, real estate sales volume has been $420-$753 million annually with up to 800 transactions handled per year.  Appraisal services include over 1,200 appraisals per year encompassing large agri-commercial, livestock operations, and quarries in addition to farm and ranch  land.

    Dickhut began with the company in 2002 as a Farm Manager in Illinois and Missouri.  Four years later he was appointed Vice President of Client Relations and moved to Omaha, the home office of Farmers National.  He currently serves as the corporate secretary for the company.

    Prior to his work in farm management and land real estate, Dickhut farmed for 23 years in west central Illinois operating a 1,600 acre family grain farm.  He was active in state and county Farm Bureau leadership and local organizations during his farming career. 

    Randy is married to Kim, a school teacher in Omaha, and they have three children.

    Dan Wagner from the Inland Real Estate Group and Nate Kuhn from Chicagoland 1031 Exchange will be offering a pre-meeting education seminar that will focus on the 1031 Like Kind Exchange Delaware Statutory Trust.  The presentation will highlight how this could be a new retirement tool for farm owners.

    Daniel Wagner is senior vice president of government relations for The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc.  He has been a licensed real estate broker since 2004 and holds Series 7 and 63 security licenses. 

    Wagner serves on numerous real estate industry, and governmental boards and committees. He served as Treasurer in 2017 and President Elect in 2018 of the ILLINOIS REALTORS®, President of the CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® in 2016 and was the 2016 Commercial Liaison for the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. Wagner was named 2017 REALTOR® of the Year by the CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and received the 2017 Commercial Award from the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. In 2019 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Illinois REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.  Wagner is also a commissioner on the DuPage Airport Authority and serves as the Chairman of the Authority’s Capital Development Committee. Wagner served for two terms as Chairman of the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and is currently Vice Chairman of the organization. Wagner was installed as a board member for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce in 2019.   Additionally, he serves as a Trustee for The Conservation Foundation.

    As a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Wagner has been a significant advocate for the Marketplace Fairness Act which the Supreme Court ruled into law in 2018. Wagner is also a board member of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives’- (IPA) and in 2018 received the IPA Outstanding Service Award for his role as Co-Chair of the Policy and Government Affairs Committee.  He was a part of the Real Estate Roundtable’s 1031 Like-Kind Exchange Coalition, whose ultimate outcome was the preservation of the 1031 Like-Kind Exchange in the 2018 Federal Tax Law. He is a board member for the Civic Federation of Chicago and is active in the United States Chamber of Commerce,  Illinois Manufacturers Association, and Illinois Retail Merchants Association. 

    Nathan Kuhn
    Chicagoland 1031 Exchange

    Nathan is the President of Chicagoland 1031 Exchange. He has years of experience helping a wide-variety of clients complete exchanges ranging from basic to very complex, and everything in between. He enjoys meeting and working with people, and always prioritizes the time it takes to get to know his clients, their financial situations, and exchange needs. As an experienced 1031 exchange professional, Nathan works hard to help his clients understand the exchange process and offers solutions for their needs.

    Nathan has over 10 years of 1031 exchange experience, helping his clients complete over 200 exchanges into DST and TIC investments. He has extensive knowledge about the 1031 process and replacement properties, is meticulous with due diligence, and is always happy to answer questions. Nathan regularly attends industry conferences and due diligence meetings to stay current on all things related to 1031 exchanges.

    Nathan graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2002 where he received a degree in Economics and a minor in Chemistry.
