    Description

Do you wish you knew more about the farming practices used on your farm? How can you best support your farmer tenants? Do resources exist to help improve communication between you and your tenant? What are some creative ways to structure leases for the benefit of both parties?

Landlords and farmers each have valuable resources that the other needs. Working in partnership and opening the lines of communication is better for both parties, and the land. Jennifer Filipiak and Jami Cox will discuss basic leasing structures, common land improvement/stewardship scenarios, and how to bring the two together.

Filipiak brings more than 15 years of project management experience in conservation and sustainable agriculture having previously worked with organizations such as the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, The Nature Conservancy of Iowa, and the Lake County (Illinois) Forest Preserve District.
