Jonathan Coppess, Clinical Assistant Professor of Law and Policy for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will update The Chicago Farmers on the implementation of the 2014 Farm Bill, its implications for landowners, and its impacts on international markets. Domestic and international agricultural policies will continue to play an important role in the future of farming, so we look forward to hearing from an expert.

As a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, Jonathan brings a strong legal background to his analysis of farm policies. He also has a wealth of experience from working on Capitol Hill, both as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Ben Nelson and as Chief Counsel for the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. Moreover, he worked at the Farm Service Agency, providing him insight into the workings of policy implementation by the USDA.
