     Join The Chicago Farmers for a discussion of the varied sustainability standards that are coming to light in the agriculture world. How will agriculture react to WalMart’s and other customers’ demands to provide products sourced from sustainable farms?

    Speaker:  Dr. Michelle Wander, who is the Director of the Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture Program and Professor of Soil Fertility/Ecology at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Her research and outreach address sustainable and organic agriculture and currently focus on decision tools, assessment frameworks, standards and indicators that are used to quantify the influence of management on soils, soil organic matter and ecosystem services.
