April 23-30 |
Day 1
AerLingus flight departing O’Hare at 6:45 p.m.,
arriving in Shannon
at 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning.

Day
2 Mild sightseeing with a visit to
the Cliffs of Moher (see photo at left) and
overnight at the Imperial Hotel in
Cork, second largest city in the
Irish
Republic.

Day 3
Friday includes a visit to Blarney Castle
(photo right) and a meeting with the National
Agricultural Advisory Service, plus a visit to a 70
Cow Dairy Farm. Friday dinner and overnight at the
Imperial Hotel, Cork. Also an evening
meeting with the Irish Farmers Association
representative.

Day
4 Saturday’s program calls for a
visit to the Old Jamieson Distillery
Heritage
Center in Middleton, and a
stop at the Waterford Crystal Glass Company. (See
photo left) Dinner is at the Tower Waterford Hotel,
where we will spend the night.

Day
5
Sunday’s plans
include Kilkenny Castle,
a visit to a sheep, beef
Cattle and horse farm, and a stop at the
Arable Farmer, a grain and Rape Seed Oil
establishment.
Dinner and overnight at The Kilkenny Farm
Houses. All rooms with private bath.
Day 6
Monday
we will start the day with a visit to the
Crop
Research
Center
to learn about Irish bio-fuel production. Also a
visit to a Dairy Farm which has beef cattle and
Grain. Dinner in
Dublin
at our overnight stop – Wynn’s Hotel.

Day 7
Tuesday we meet with the Irish Food
Board to learn
about their Quality Control, and will
take a City Tour of Dublin. This will include
Trinity College, The Book of Kells, and St.
Patrick’s Cathedral. The
afternoon is free.
At the dinner hour we are going to an “Irish
Night” where the “Merry Ploughboys” will entertain
us. Our overnight is at Gresham Hotel.
Day 8
Wednesday we transfer to the
Dublin
Airport for the return
trip with a 2:30 departure. We will arrive at O’Hare
at 4:30 p.m. that same afternoon.
Air conditioned coach,
driver/guide, and itinerary schedule are provided by
Discover Ireland Tours based in Cork. AerLingus service is Economy Coach.
